David Byrne's Interactive Art Piece for 96 Guitar Pedals [VIDEO]

Oh, that David Byrne. The ex-Talking Heads front man really has made the most of all these years since the dissolution of that great band. Sure, his solo records are all pretty cool and, here in NYC, everybody has their “I saw David Byrne riding his bike” story but it’s stuff like this makes us love Mr. Byrne the most. Here’s an interactive art installation Byrne conceived for a Tokyo gallery that involves every modern music geek’s favorite thing—guitar pedals. By daisy-chaining together 96 different effects pedals, an amp and a guitar, the piece looks like the stage at any given Brooklyn venue on any given night of the week. The piece works by people simply walking over the carpet of pedals and altering the soundscape. Flavorwire (via Laughing Squid) has pointed us in the direction of video showing visitors to the gallery interacting with the exhibit. Check it out below.
