Yes, you read that right. Next month, at the Bowery Ballroom here in NYC, The Adventures of Pete & Pete’s principal cast and creators will reunite for the first time since the series ended. Despite the fact the series ended over 15 years ago, people are still all about The Adventures of Pete & Pete—the smart, quirky television program that aired on Nickelodeon back in the ‘90s. Featuring the surreal exploits of two redheaded brothers along with their family and friends in a non-descript suburban town, the show’s cult following continues to grow. Quick wit and a skewed (but positive) handling of moral and social dilemmas facing American adolescents ingratiated the show to fledgling indie-rock fans. Guest appearances from the likes of Iggy Pop, Michael Stipe, LL Cool J, Debbie Harry, Juliana Hatfield and Kate Pierson of the B-52s probably didn’t hurt either.
The listing on Bowery Presents’ website promises both a panel discussion and an audience Q & A concerning all things Pete. This special evening of longing-for-another-time takes place on Friday February 24th and tickets go on sale today at Noon ET. For tickets and more information, you can head here.
