SXSW Report: Legendary Songwriter Paul Williams Working on Daft Punk's Album

Paul Williams is an Academy Award-winning American composer, musician, songwriter, and actor. He is perhaps best known for popular songs performed by a number of acts in the 1970s including Three Dog Night's An Old Fashioned Love Song, the Carpenters' We've Only Just Begun and Rainy Days and Mondays, as well as his contributions to films like A Star Is Born and The Muppet Movie. Add to that, WIlliams is the President of ASCAP, as well as now being crowned with the title "Captain Bean Spiller". Here's why...
 
 
According to multiple sources, "Following a screening of the Paul Williams: Still Alive documentary during the film portion of Austin's SXSW festival, Williams dropped news that he had been collaborating with the outfit, but didn't exactly go into to much detail about the project." 107.7 The End went on to detail Paul saying, “I have written songs for Daft Punk. This material will appear on their new album, coming maybe June."
